What you wear is a major part of your portrait. Your choice of clothing helps tell the story of who you are at this point in your life. Ok, bring what you mom want’s to see you in (we will photograph them too) but mostly bring clothes that fit your personality and style. Here are a few tips:
What a hot day it was when we went to South Fork Ranch for this little cowboy’s shoot. A few locations and many images later, we decided we had enough pictures and enough of the heat. Walking back to the cars we came on to this horse pen with this beautiful Appaloosa. He was excited to see the horses! We of course did not let him get in the pen as it appears, but the shot was so good, my retoucher, Bill, and I put in the extra work to make it look like he was. See the original proof is below.
When Brett, the mom, asked me to make a “Naughty or Nice” photo for her Christmas card, I said ok, let’s burn your house down. A week latter she said yes. This is the result of planning, propping, makeup, two photoshoots, a greenscreen and a composite of at least 11 photographs. Notice that even the dog pooped in the yard. Inspired by work I’ve seen by David Lachepelle. I had a blast!
